17 Best Chattanooga Tiny House Rentals on Airbnb (2024)
So you’ve always wanted to sleep in a tiny house.
You’ve watched them being built on HGTV, scrolled past them on your Instagram feed, and have even considered living in one yourself.
You know realistically that living in a tiny house just isn’t your cup of tea, however, your itch to stay in one just won’t go away and your curiosity gets the best of you.
And curiosity, my friend, might do a lot of things, but rarely does it kill the cat.
Let’s get curious.
Why Chattanooga?
Tennessee is home to many great cities, including Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville and Gatlinburg, so it’s no wonder that Chattanooga gets the short end of the stick when it comes to the press. Nonetheless, Chattanooga is a city ripe for exploring, with much less foot traffic than its sibling-cities, meaning all the more space for you and your family to explore.
Here’s why I love Chattanooga and why I made it the focus of this post:
I grew up vacationing to Chattanooga and have actually stayed at one of the tiny houses below (#2).
Chattanooga is under three-hours driving from a plethora of southeastern cities, including Atlanta, Nashville, Huntsville, Birmingham, and Bowling Green.
It’s a great alternate destination to the highly touristed Smoky Mountains. As mentioned in this Gatlinburg Airbnb round up, the Great Smoky Mountains welcome a whopping 12.5 million visitors each year. Chattanooga on the other hand welcomes 1/4 of that number, coming in at only 3 million visitors each year, yet all the while boasting beautiful mountains vistas, a plethora of hikes, amazing food and tons of kid-friendly activities.
The Tiny Houses
Each Chattanooga tiny house below has been vetted based on a collection of qualities, including aesthetics, ratings and reviews, and stay types. All properties have been hand selected out of the 300+ Chattanooga listings on Airbnb and we’ve included a why it made the list explanation for each.
Let’s meet the tiny houses.
All photos in the post are from Airbnb listings and are not my own.
1) Treehouses at Candlelight Forest/Sophie's Roost
I can’t even explain what staying at Candlelight Forest did for my mental health. Even though we only stayed one night, we made the most of our time, exploring the grounds. My boys (2.5 and 5) had an amazing time. Just being away from the city and out in the fresh air was what my soul needed. There was another family staying next door in the other treehouse, but we didn’t see them much and we kept plenty of distance. Other than those guests, we didn’t see any other people, except for the people working the grounds, so we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The treehouse was great and had everything we needed. It was very clean and just such a special experience for my boys. I highly recommend!
