16 Best Airbnbs in the South of France (2024)
LOCATION: FRENCH RIVIERA & PROVENCE
The South of France is quite literally, the South of France and rather than being a destination in and of itself, the South of France is an entire region filled with endless destinations to be explored.
The South of France is made up of two main sub-regions: The French Riviera (Côte d'Azur) and Provence.
The French Riviera (Côte d'Azur): The French Riviera is made up of the Mediterranean coastline including popular summer destinations such as St. Tropez, Cannes, and Nice. If you are someone who craves days on the beach, boat rides in the Mediterranean and views of the sea, this is the region for you.
Provence (Luberon): Provence, in contrast to the French Riviera, is mostly landlocked, and is a region for the slow-speed, countryside-loving traveler. It is a landscape of rough rocky mountains hiding vast valleys of abundant crops. In the Provence region, you’ll find endless fields of wild grasses, rolling hills of lavender and vineyards, Neolithic and Roman villages perched on hilltops and stone building façades covered in jasmine and ivy. Read the Provence Travel Guide here.
In this South of France Best Airbnbs roundup, we are including properties spanning the entire region and inclusive of both the French Riviera and Provence. We can’t promise that we have searched through every single Airbnb rental in the South of France, but we have searched through thousands throughout our South of France travel planning and these are the most beautiful Airbnbs the region has to offer.

There is a few units situated on the property side by side but it still felt private, with the lovely garden and plants well placed between the patios at rear (which is the only place we crossed paths with our neighbors). Kitchen well equipped to cook some meals in. Very easy location to enjoy the region and nearby town with a car. The bedding is incredibly good and the location in the heart of the historic town of Isle sur la Sorgue is great. Access is done independently, but Clotilde is extremely present and responsive.
